Building Value From the Ground Up

HBP Holdings acquires minerals and royalties, leases oil and gas acreage, and participates in working interests in proven U.S. oil and gas basins.

What we do

HBP Holdings is an oil and gas investment firm, with our current focus on the Permian Basin. We invest across the ownership stack, from minerals and royalties to leasehold and working interests.

Minerals

Mineral & royalty acquisitions

We buy mineral, royalty and overriding royalty interests, producing or not, whole or fractional. We buy for our own account, so owners deal directly with the buyer.

Leasing

Oil & gas leasing

We lease open and expiring mineral acreage directly from owners and build leasehold positions ahead of development in prospective areas of interest.

Working interests

Working interest participation

We partner with top-tier operators as a non-operated working interest partner in the drilling and completion of wells, through leasehold acquisition and wellbore interests.

Who we work with

Mineral and royalty owners

Sell all or part of your minerals or royalties, or lease your open acreage directly to us. Send a deed, lease, division order or check stub and we'll review title and come back with a written offer. There are no fees or obligation.

Operators and working interest owners

We partner with top-tier operators as a non-operated working interest partner in the drilling and completion of wells. We acquire leasehold, wellbore interests and term assignments, and review well proposals, units and non-op packages in our areas of interest.

How do I sell my oil and gas interest?

Start with a conversation. Tell us where your interest is and send whatever paperwork you have: a deed, lease, assignment, division order, JIB or check stub.

We confirm your ownership in the county records, then value the interest. Our valuation looks at current production and decline, nearby permits and drilling activity, operator development plans, and the terms of any existing lease.

We then present a written offer and walk you through how we arrived at it. We buy for our own account, so you deal with the buyer directly and not a broker. Offers are free and carry no obligation.

Why sell?

A sale turns years of uneven royalty checks into one lump-sum payment now. Owners also sell to:

  • Get paid up front. Royalty income rises and falls with prices, production decline and operator schedules. A sale locks in the value today.
  • Cut the paperwork. Division orders, 1099s, ad valorem and severance taxes, and tracking small interests across operators and counties all go away.
  • Possible tax advantages. Minerals are real property. Proceeds from a sale held more than a year are often taxed at long-term capital gains rates, while royalties are taxed as ordinary income. Ask your tax advisor how this applies to you.
  • Simplify an estate. Settle an estate, divide an inheritance cleanly, or fund other investments.
